Death water

water

I’ve always been one to say “to each their own”. You do what you wish with whatever makes you happy, as long as it doesn’t harm my, or others, physical or mental well being. You want to walk around with your pants down to your knees? Have at it.
You want to snort glue? Have fun.

You want to drink water until you puke or die? Hey, it’s your life. Who the hell am I to stop you?

The thing that burns me is the total lack of personal responsibility. There are a ton of people who insist on blaming others for their own mistakes. These usually turn into stupid lawsuits. I have a phrase for that “Only in America can you take your common sense and flush it down the toilet and then turn around and sue the toilet manufacturer for taking your common sense!”
The fact that bars are responsible for making sure that everybody does not go out driving drunk is one of the top hot spots for me over this subject.
I mean, a dumb shit can go into a bar, get plastered, go drive and kill himself, and the family can go sue the bar owner! That is utterly ridicules! The bar owner didn’t shove the alcohol down his/her throat!! So why the hell is the bar owner responsible for the accident?? Again, because there are a lot of deadbeats out there that won’t take responsibility for themselves. They want the freakin world to pay their way. A personal screwup was done and they want someone else to pay for it instead of admitting that he/she fucked up. NOPE!! Not in America. I can go sue somebody when I do something on my own and screwed up.
Now, I agree there are times when a lawsuit is warranted like over malfunctioning equipment but to go willingly into a bar and then have yourself killed afterwards?? NO! You’re the dumbshit that KNEW if you drank all that alcohol that you would be impaired to drive. Just like the dumshits that smoked cigarettes and sued for having LUNG CANCER!! Yes, that’s another hot spot subject too.

Anyways, I need to get back on the reason for this post.
Seems there was a radio contest a few years ago involving a water drinking contest. They would have some people willing to drink as much water as they could without going to the bathroom. The winner would get a Nintendo Wii with the contest called “Hold your wee for a Wii”
Welp, a 28 year old woman died from this contest of acute water intoxication.
Her family sued and won……. WHAT!!!?!??
Yes, won over $16 million.
Again, how the fuck is the radio station at fault here??? They didn’t shove that water down her damn throat!! Too much of ANYTHING is bad for you. Common knowledge.
I didn’t see any of the other contestants dying from this contest! Probably because they were SMARTER!! You want to exert yourself beyond your capacity, then go at it BUT if your body fails because of it then DON’T blame someone else PERIOD!
So again, here we have a tragic death but it was all from her wanting to go beyond what the body should handle, but to have the family SUE because of her own actions, and then WINNING that lawsuit?? BULLSHIT!!

I’m telling ya, I’m on the verge of suing all of the desert companies because they made me diabetic. I’m suing all the pizza joints because they made me fat. Yup. If these morons can do it and win… then so should I…..

This is a tough one. I don’t agree that the Radio DJs are not responsible. I think that it should have been supervised with medical personnel. I don’t believe the family could or should have collected 16 million. She was 28 years old and living on her own. That is the problem with America. Lawyers. How 16 million was justified is crazy.

Having the DJ’s supplying a medical staff? I guess so. I would have been a nice thing to do but to hold them responsible? NOPE! They were offering a prize to do something outrageous and for someone to just plop down and say “Hey, I think I’ll gulp down gallons of water. Garsh, it’s NATURAL to do so what could happen?” is just labeling themselves a moron. Again, why the hell is it where being a moron can be profitable?
Am I jeolous? Hell yea!! Here I am with, what I believe, good common sense but worried about finances while the fuckin morons out there get all the goddamn money!!
Since I’m worried about my family’s finacial future, I should then just go to the local pizza joint and try to see how much pizza I can shove down my throat and die from it so that my family could sue and have a great future.
Again, it’a all BULLSHIT! The legal system has been and always will be FUBAR as long as we allow the idiots to be the judge, jury AND executioner. Allow common sense to enter the court for God’s sake!

HA!! I knew I could count on ya!!
Yes, a recording of this binge would be good for proof.
“See your honor, he just kept eating until he died…. So…. can we have $16 million too??”

The plaintiffs lawyers played tapes of the “Morning Rave” show the day of the contest, where the disc jockeys made fun about contestants throwing up and about the possibility of somebody dying from drinking too much water. The jokes continued even after the DJs received several calls – including some they played on the air – from listeners who expressed concerns that drinking too much water could be dangerous, plaintiffs argued.

Station manager Steve Weed and Entercom’s top official in Sacramento, John Geary, both had received complaints ahead of time about the behavior and antics of the “Morning Rave” crew from KDND promotions director Robin Pechota, the plaintiffs argued. But management failed to rein in the DJs, the lawyers said.

I say the DJs were at fault. When people started throwing up, any person with common sense would have said “enough”. Yes, the contestants could have said it, too. But they aren’t the ones in charge. After McDonald’s was sued for the hot coffee, every single business needs to be on the lookout for possible openings for idiots.

This one was set up to fail from the beginning.

Health wise, it’s not good to hold your bladder. It can cause a serious condition (the name of which I can’t remember). It can also cause brain damage (studies have shown that the fuller the bladder at the time of head injury, the worse the injury will be).

Yes, the woman and the other contestants were idiots. So were the DJs. Yes, the DJs should be held accountable. But accountable for that much money? No way.

Well that just makes the DJs assholes which is probably what made them popular. Popular radio assholes is nothing new. I can point you to Howard Stern and Rush Limbaugh for examples of that. Now should we fine them for being assholes? No. There are people out there that just love to listen to radio assholes. Hey, whatever floats their boat I guess. If we fined people who are assholes (I wish) then the New York residence would be quite poor. Yes, I can’t stand these radio jerks BUT I do the logical BEST thing….. I change the station on my radio. WOW, what a concept that a lot of people have a hard time grasping.
Anyways, I still disagree that the DJs are held accountable. They’re just assholes having their dumb fun over a ludicrous contest that people should have been smart with. Now would I have done that contest? I donno. I could see myself trying IF I was in the neighborhood and they needed another contestant but I wouldn’t have called in to reserve a spot. Anyways, even IF I did do it and died, I wouldn’t have wanted my family to sue over it. I’m quite sure in the afterlife I would have been quite embarassed that I did such a stupid stunt. Emabrrased for me, not enraged against the DJs.
Now here’s the kicker that I want to throw on top of this. I just about guarantee that these fired DJs either found a new radio station OR they will eventually find a radio station to work for because….. again, there are people that just love to listen to these jerks!
Listen, the world is FILLED with idiots and assholes. I learned that at a very young age. There will always be assholes making the idiots do ludicrous things because the idiots WANT to do stupid things. I’ve also learned that you can yell and scream to these idiots, until you’re blue in the face, about why they shouldn’t listen to assholes but these idiots will still just continue to do the assholes’ bidding. Now should I feel sorry for these idiots? Nope! Easy answer. Why should I waste my time to further preach to idiots that just won’t learn. I’ll preach to them once but not any further. I’ve got my own life and my own family and kids to preach to and hope, that when my number is called to the golden gates, they will be at least as smart as me about the constant link between assholes and their idiots.
Of course there are times that people just want to have fun. Nothing wrong with that, just be smart about it. If you die because YOU did something stupid, be embarrassed for yourself, don’t place the blame on someone else.

It’d be easy for them to find another job. So many DJs now go by aliases on-air. And so many of them sound alike.

I hate shock jocks. Hate them. Sarcasm, sure, that happens. But Limbaugh and whatshisname are just sickos who have found an audience.

Perhaps the dead woman will be nominated for a Darwin Award.

I am not sure why Rush Limbaugh makes this list? I listen to him often. How is he an asshole? What did he do that makes him an asshole? I am not sure how that is true. I think he speaks what most won’t say about the political pundits? He has never had people die on his show? He has never had naked chicks in his studio?

Rush loves to be hated, but I am not sure I could classify him as an asshole.

WHAT!!?!? You have GOT to be kidding?
One example I can give you is something local. His statement over Donovan McNabb about how he’s overrated because the media wanted a black quarterback to succeed was total BULLSHIT!! How the living FUCK can you actually be INTELLEGENT if you need to put RACE in your goddamn argument?? McNabb is actually a pretty darn good quarterback and that’s coming from somebody that hates the Igles! There are great arguments that make him a good quarterback and there are arguments that make him just so-so but to say he’s overrated because he’s BLACK?? BULL-FUCKIN-SHIT!!! THAT is just ONE example of why he’s an asshole, PERIOD! If he doesn’t like McNabb and wanted to state why, then at least give GOOD examples of why you think he’s overrated. But no, the ASSHOLE had to hide behind the race card. Using the race card made him look like a 4 year old arguing like “Na na na na, you’re mean because you’re a poopy pants”.
Also it’s assholes like him that keep racism alive.
Again, YOU want to listen to him? Knock yourself out. But don’t you DARE tell me who’s an asshole and who is not. I have my own ways to label assholes and yes he’s one of them.
I’ll respect that you listen to him as long as you respect that I will NOT!
